Extra informatie over de RAR-versie voor DOS en OS/2

Indien u de RAR/DOS-toepassing rar32.exe in een Windows-DOS-venster of opdrachtprompt wilt uitvoeren, dan raden wij ten sterkste aan om hiervoor in de plaats rar.exe te gebruiken uit de WinRAR-distributie. Rar.exe is ook een hulpmiddel voor op de opdrachtregel en de syntax ervan is praktisch gelijk aan die voor de DOS-versie, maar rar.exe is in tegenstelling tot rar32.exe een Windows-toepassing, dus het is betrouwbaarder en efficiënter bij gebruik in Windows. Ook biedt rar.exe een aantal Windows-specifieke opties die ontbreken in de DOS-versie.
U hoeft RAR/DOS alleen te downloaden als u het in OS/2 of in echte MS-DOS-modus, dus niet in een Windows-DOS-venster.

If you are going to run RAR/DOS rar32.exe in Windows DOS box or command prompt, we strongly suggest to use rar.exe from WinRAR distributive instead. Rar.exe is also the command line tool and its command line syntax is practically the same as for DOS version, but unlike rar32.exe, rar.exe is a native Windows application, so it is more reliable and efficient when using in Windows. Also rar.exe provides a number of Windows specific options missing in DOS version.

You need to download RAR/DOS only if you are going to run it in OS/2 or real MS DOS, not just Windows DOS box.
